CONDENSED VERSION

You can put on a condensed version of the show if there are one or more constraints against the full version.

A particular issue may be in finding people to play the young leads Jack and Claire who between them sing four romantic songs and have by far the most dialogue. If their full scenes before and after the parade are cut and also their songs from later scenes, including the tango, the show will still hold together and can be staged in one act lasting a little over an hour.

The fishwives song could also be cut if this proves too challenging, although such action could be considered detrimental to the show by reducing the impact of women.
